Welcome to Heartland Pet Welfare’s new webpage. We’d like to thank Greg Hart at Arrow Solar for his generosity and expertise in moving our on-line presence forward. We’ve had some issues with the old heartlandpetwelfare.com website providing incorrect and dated content but have since acquired the domain (in addition to heartlandpetwelfare.org), shut down the old website, and consolidated the .org and .com domains. We hope to provide frequently updated content regarding events/fundraisers, adoptable pets, happy ending stories, and newsletters.
As always, keeping things moving forward is a group exercise. We need Volunteers! Even if you only have one day a month or week to volunteer and help the shelter, it can make a big difference. We most need shelter help in daily cleaning and feeding that typically involves about 3-4 hours of time but even a few hours is a help. Our cats and kittens don’t take days off. They need to be taken care of every day, rain, snow, shine, and holidays. Even offering to be an on-call fill-in can help offset overworking our volunteers. Dependability is key. If you otherwise have a special skill that you think will benefit the shelter, cats, or organization, please let us know thru the “contact us” tabs. As always, financial assistance is needed and most appreciated to offset our vet bills, vehicle expenses to run cats to the vet and adoption centers, supply needs, and other operations. But, what we are most in need of is volunteer time!
